Joel White spoke with Inside Health Policy about healthcare bills working their way through Congress.
Horizon Government Affairs President and CEO Joel White told Inside Drug Pricing the House may have an easier time bringing PBM reform legislation to the floor.
In May, the House Energy & Commerce Committee passed the PATIENT Act, a broad health care transparency bill that includes provisions to ban spread pricing and require PBMs to regularly supply employers with detailed data on prescription drug spending. The House Education & the Workforce and Ways & Means committees are expected to mark up PBM reform bills in July, according to White.
White notes that garnering more transparency from the PBM industry is a central piece of the bills crafted by each of the three House committees, which will make it easier for the bills to be combined into a larger PBM reform bill and brought to the House floor by as early as late July.
